Dear Carl,
After read Enigma 2.5 doc:
---
Haruhiko Okumura is not the creator of LZSS
LZ compression algorithm is discovered by Jakob Ziv,
and proposed with
Abraham Lempel, hence the name of the algorithm:
Lempel-Ziv
Storer & Szymanski proposed slighty modified version
of LZ, the algorithm
is called Lempel-Ziv-Storer-Szymanski (LZSS)
Haruhiko Okumura implemented LZSS in C
He also wrote LZSS+arithmetic in C (called LZARI)
Haruyazu Yoshisaki replace arithmetic coding with
dynamic Huffman coding
from LZARI, and created LHA compression program
(LZ+Huffman)
LZ+Huffman then becomes the base of practical
compressors today, including
ZIP, ARJ, UC2, etc
I know this because I read some compression articles
---
I also suggest you to use CBC instead of ECB mode for
Enigma
CBC is considered stronger than ECB
CBC = XORing block with previous block before being
crypted
---
Regards,
EddyHawk
